Cấu trúc câu trong IELTS Writing Task 1

1. Các cấu trúc câu dự đoán trong IELTS Writing Task 1

Là cấu trúc mang tính tiên đoán xu hướng của vấn đề dựa trên số liệu, bản đồ đã cho trước. Các cấu trúc này cũng được dùng như một sự kết luận, dẫn chứng cho những điều thí sinh vừa phân tích.

• Subject + will + Verb + Object + preposition + time

Ex: The number of electric cars will increase by 50% in the next five years, according to the chart provided

• According to current + Object (plural), there will be + Subject + preposition + time

Ex: According to current statistics, there will be a significant increase in renewable energy usage by 2030

• It is + past participle + that + Subject + will + Verb + Object + preposition + time

Ex: It is estimated that the company’s profits will double by the end of the year.

• Subject + is/are + past participle + to + Verb ( infinitive) + preposition + time

Ex: The data is expected to show a decline in sales figures over the next quarter.

• Subject + is/are + likely + to + Verb ( infinitive) + preposition + time

Ex: The new product is likely to be launched in the next few months.

2. Các cấu trúc câu trong IELTS Writing Task 1 dùng để miêu tả

Các mẫu câu dưới đây sẽ giúp bạn diễn đạt lập luận cá nhân thuận lợi hơn, đồng thời giúp bài viết trở nên đa dạng, tránh lặp từ, lặp câu:

• There + be + a/an + adj + Noun

Ex: The unemployment rate in the United States experienced a slight decrease from 5.8% in January to 5.6% in February.

• S + see/experience/undergo + adj + Noun

Ex: The number of visitors to the museum saw a significant increase from 100,000 in January to 150,000 in February.

• A + adj + Noun + in + S be recorded

Ex: A significant increase in the number of tourists visiting France was recorded in 2019

• The number of + Plural Countable Noun + Singular Verb Form

Ex: The number of students attending the university has increased steadily over the past five years.

• The amount of + Singular Uncountable noun + Singular Verb Form

Ex: The amount of rainfall in the region has decreased steadily over the past decade.

• The proportion of/The percentage of + Countable or Uncountable Nouns + Singular Verb Form

Ex: The proportion of crimes rises dramatically in 2022

• The figures for + Count. or Uncountable Nouns + Plural Verb Form

Ex: The figures for the number of international tourists visiting Australia from January to March 2021 show a significant decrease compared to the same period in 2020.

3. Các cấu trúc so sánh trong IELTS Writing Task 1

Các cấu trúc câu so sánh dưới đây sẽ giúp bạn làm nổi bật thực trạng, xu hướng và sự biến thiên của đối tượng được nhắc đến trong IELTS Writing Task 1.

So sánh hơn/kém 

• S1 + tobe/v + more/ fewer/less + noun + than + S2

Ex: The number of people who attended the concert was more than double that of last year’s event

• S1 + tobe + adj – er + than + S2

Ex: The number of male students enrolled in the university is significantly higher than that of female students

• S1 + tobe/v + more/less + adj + than + S2

Ex: The average temperature in July is more scorching in Las Vegas than in Seattle

So sánh hơn nhất

• S + to be the adj – est

Ex: Vietnam is one of the busiest and most vibrant countries in Southeast Asia

• S + to be the most + adj

Ex: The most important consideration in choosing job is income. 

So sánh ngang bằng

• S + to be similar + to + N/Pronoun

Ex: According to recent statistics, the air pollution levels in Beijing are similar to those in Delhi

• S1 + to be + the same as + S2

Ex: The population of City A in 2020 was 500,000, which was the same as the population of City B in the same year

• (+) S + to be + as + adj + as + N/ pronoun

Ex: The number of tourists visiting Thailand in 2020 was as high as in the previous year

• S + to be + not + as/so + adj + as + N/ pronoun

Ex: The number of tourists visiting the beach this year was not as high as expected

So sánh gấp nhiều lần

• S1 + to be twice/three/four… times + as many/much as higher/greater than + S2

Ex: The number of international tourists visiting Vietnam in 2022 was twice as high as that in 2021.

• S1 + is + more than/over + two/three/four… times/fold + as + adj + S2

Ex: The population of Ho Chi Minh City is more than three times larger than that of Hanoi.
